Had choir yesterday. It was super fun cuz we started to learn Kucinta. It was difficult but we managed to finish learning the difficult parts in the song. It's almost like Zachariah Goh closed his eyes and scribbled the manuscript and then opened his eyes and did minor corrections. Almost every note was accompanied with an accidental. But we survived through the parts. It's a good song to remind us of the equal importance of all four parts of a choir cuz sometimes we tend to forget it when we're singing the melody all the time. Well, I tend to forget anyway, not faulting the rest of them:)

Went to the memorial concert for Samuel Ting, Mr Kwei's conductor when he was a choir boy on 28 nov. Really inspirational to see how one teacher can affect a single student so much that he remembers you for the rest of his life. I bet that's how all teachers want to feel. Now I feel kind of guilty for forgetting some of my teachers, especially from my primary school even though they've played such an important role in nurturing me as a student and a person. On to lighter things, I saw Justin from Tock Seng at the concert. Actually, I was sitting beside him! Me, Kangting, Shona, Shena,Hazel, Youying and Zong Yi ran all the way from Cartel cuz we were going to be late. Went into VCH and there were seats at the front. Had to squeeze past 2 guys to get to the seats and when I looked at one of them I was so sure that was Justin. But he looked at me and showed no glint of recognition. So the whole of the first half I spent contemplating whether it was him. Of course, I paid attention to the music too. VJ( Mr Kwei's oldest choir) started the concert and boy, they were good. Then there was a solo by this guy who even "Ah" ed on pitch, sending Zong Yi into a fit of giggles. Then the Herald Choir Society started singing. They were all Chinese songs but it was quite nice. After the last song I turned to Kangting and told her how it was killing me that the guy I was sitting beside looks so familiar when Justin went," Thi, is that you?"(cue to laugh). Serious punchline material. Turns out his TPJC friend invited him to the concert and that's why he was here. Lol. Came back for second half and he and his friend were gone. Angela had come late so now she sat with us. TPJC( his second oldest choir) opened the second half and after that there was a solo by a power sop from the Herald Choir Society. She got super vibrato until we couldn't understand what she was singing. Moreover, a well-timed sneeze from the audience just as she paused to take a breath sent us into giggles. After that they had a combined choir of all the performers and they sang a few songs. Overall the concert was quite nice and, in the smplest sense, sweet. It's nice when students take their time off to honour their teachers. We had a camwhoring session until I started rushing cuz I wanted to reach home that day itself, which meant before 11:59:59 pm. I reached home at 12:10 tho.

Day 2:Kayak 3
After morning PT and breakfast we went for our next lesson in kayaking. Today we were going to learn more about the boats we're going to use for the expedition : the Amaruks and Crosswinds( which are orange). Our group had to take two Penguins (single kayaks) so my pairing changed to me and Chun Meng. Again we got stuck at a pontoon and had to be saved cuz we were drifting quite far and according to Iskandar we were drifting into a tanker ( i think this pontoon and having to be saved thing must be my fault). Today we learnt how to save ourselves during mass capsize, how to tow each other, how to clip onto the anchor boey and channel crossing. Damn tired after that. Legs couldn't function. And we were still last boat for raft-up (where all the boats line up in water). Then we had a CX (sea expedition) briefing. We have to kayak DAMN FAR. Like today we only kayaked 6 km. But no choice have to chiong on day 4.

FUNNY THINGS TAHT HAPPENED ON SECOND DAY
Chun Meng's damn random. During kayaking she suddenly said ," wah the chair wet for so long our butts are going to become wrinkly." Super random la I was just stunned for a while. But it wasn't true.Lol. We played Indian Poker again. Eugene had to do forfeit so we forced Vera's bra on him. Filmed and took pics too. Lol. Hope he wasn't emotionally scarred. It was hilarious on our part.

AHHHHHH!!! Finally back at home from OBS 9-day course. Super tired still cuz we never had enough sleep over the days. Time to update....

DAY ONE- Intro and Kayak 1
We met our watches today. I'm in Tock Seng (named after Tan tock Seng) and Sheryl's in Elizabeth (named after Elizabeth Choy, war hero). First thing we did was trust fall. A bit afraid but trust is one thing a geoup must have from the beginning to succeed. Got to know the bunch- Vera, Anuja( from MJ OG), Chen Yan( Sheryl's friend), Amanda, Raihanna, Brenda (from AJ OG), Chun Meng ( the Econs genius), Priscilla, Justin, Eugene, Dong Xing, Jenson, Edward, Yi Feng and Gerald. I was partnering Yi Feng for kayaking . We kept on getting stuck near the pontoon!!! Damn irritating, but we finally managed to save ourselves from there. We practiced capsize drill which was quite fun except for the fact that when the sea water goes into your nose, all the mucus comes out...yuck. After that we bathed, ate and then went for Dimensions of Leadership Profile course. It's supposed to teach us more about what kind of leader I am and I'm supposedly a leader who focuses on character and interaction which means I'm more concerned with ensuring that my members are commited, like to interact and make sure they learn something from their experience. It was quite interesting and I did learn more about what kind of situations require leaders like me and what are my failing points that I have to watch out for.
FUNNY THINGS THAT HAPPENED ON FIRST DAY:
Jenson went into the girl's toilet!!! Anuja saw Jenson enter the toilet and automatically walked past it to enter the next toilet. Vera stopped her and pointed out that the toilet Jenson entered Was the girl's toilet. They both rushed in to see Jenson almost closing the cubicle door. He quickly rushed out. Later he mantioned that he was wondering why the toilet had no urinals. Genius. And we played a few rounds of idiot-proof Indian poker.

Gotta go now, will update on the other days next time.
Ciao!!

AHHHH! Tomorrow got OBS. For NINE days. But I kind of brought it upon myself. I think it's going to be real fun with all the CIP in Batam and the high elements and not to forget, the kayaking to Batam!! Really can't wait for the kayaking. Lol.

Today went to Chua Chu Kang Neighbourhood Police Center(CCKNPC) to do CIP with Sheryl. We spent the morning arranging the Case Exhibit Room. Everything inside is confidential but everything was such a mess. Worse than my table. Even worse than my hair. Oh the horror. But it was actually quite fun arranging the stuff and they have tons and tons of paper. Lol.

Went lunch with the Police guys and both of us were treated to Sakae Sushi. By the boss of CCK NPC himself. We both ate Tempura Udon. Then Kenny, the guy we liaised with to come for CIP, bought this whole sushi plate like thing that's or 8 ppl. Then he and the boss ate that plate. Left like 6 pieces. And the boss paid, the nice man. Lol. Then when we went back we told Kenny that we didn't pay for our food. Then he was like," I also didn't pay for the food."

Then about 2.30 we started doing their survey. As in, doing their survey for them. They gave us a list of names and they told us to randomly answewr the survey for them. Damn funny. Since Sheryl was the one filling up the form, some of the police ppl have apparently become interested in taking up dancing as a sport. Hilarious man. We finished in 5 minutes so then we just left. An hour early.

Overall it was a satisfying CIP day with all the cleaning up. Now, to divert that energy to cleaning up my table....

Maybe another day.

Okokok finally I HAVE TIME TO UPDATE!!!

Weiteng: I know I don't know you that well but it still pains me to see a classmate go. will miss you cuz your " DoTA-is-my-life" clique is incomplete without you. Wish you good luck in whatever you do and i hope you keep it touch with this class that you've spent one year with. Keep on choinging ok? All the best in your future!!

Guowei: What can I say? I'll surely miss him and his everything. He's one of the first choir peeople to remember my name ( and the one who can't remember Angela's name!! Tsktsk:)) anw, I"LL MISS YOU!!!! he's just a great guy with a lot of comments to make and says 'hi thilaiga' in his super-low voice. does really really really good art. always has creative ideas and is great with all kinds if arty stuff. I'oll seriously miss that bimbo-ish guy who simply lurves gossiping ND Mkes choir all the more fun. Good luck in whatever you do ok and follow your heart. Love ya!!!:)

Well, life is all about following your heart. The only way to live is to learn and the only way to learn is to live. It's as simple as that, learn from your mistakes and move on. Haiz, I'm seriously going to miss those people but, we all know we worked hard this year, whatever the path we are given to follow. Everyone has a part to play, and it doesn't mean that only people who go a certain path can be considered successful. Even a poor man is successful. He learnt how to enjoy life with simple pleasures, he learnt that not everything can be bought by money, and that there are some things that you can only learn when you have no money. So everyone learns what they have been given to learn, and those who resist their path are given another path. That's how life goes i guess, simple yet complex at the same time.

Sorry for crapping.
